Fátima Lai is an abstract Expressionist artist living in Brownsville, Texas. She was born in New Waverly, Texas in 1983 and was raised in Brownsville. She completed her Bachelor of Art in Studio Art in 2007. As a qualified visual arts instructor with a Texas Art certificate, She enjoys teaching at a local school in the Brownsville Independent School District.
She is an avid artist and promoter of the arts who has collaborated in judging, creating, and lead her students in numerous art events in the Brownsville community; like AMIGOS Artistas, Diego Rivera’s Mural Project in the Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts and The Belden Trail City Community Project. She is currently a student at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley working on her Master of Fine Arts.
